Sword Worlds Light Grav Tank, TL9

This is typical of the light grav tanks operated by the Sword Worlds and many other lower-tech worlds. It uses a fairly cheap closed-cycle MHD turbine, though this results in a very short endurance. In some cases, two 330-gallon (1200 liter) unarmored fuel tanks are carried over the sides of the rear deck and jettisoned before combat; each fuel tank adds 0.9 hours to endurance. The vehicle is sealed, with basic stealth and EM cloaking.

Sword Worlds Grav APC, TL9

This is typical of the grav APCs operated by the Sword Worlds and many other lower-tech worlds. It uses a fairly cheap closed-cycle MHD turbine, though this results in a short endurance. The APC has a large amount of free space which can be used for cargo, a workshop, stretchers, munitions carrier, etc. The vehicle is sealed, with basic stealth and EM cloaking.

Sword Worlds heavy missile tank, TL9

When it originally appeared in the late 1090's, Imperial Intelligence identified this vehicle as a new rocket artillery system. However, during the Fifth Frontier War, it quickly became apparent that it was intended to hunt heavy Imperial and Darrian grav units. Unable to mount a sufficiently large energy weapon capable of penetrating the side armor of in Intrepid, the Sword Worlders instead decided to mount a multiple rocket launcher armed with HEAT missiles using brilliant optical homing, firing 10 missile salvos at heavy targets and five missiles each at medium targets. While this is a rather expensive attack form (MCr 0.9 each missile), it is the best the Sword Worlds can manage against technologically superior foes, although it is only marginally effective against an Intrepid's side armor. The vehicle is sealed, with radical stealth and EM cloaking.

Gas/MHD Turbines

While NPUs work well for the military at TL10+, low-tech military or civilians may find them rather expensive to operate for more than a year, so gas and MHD turbines are used in some roles. All turbines have short term access and MHD turbines use hydrogen, gas turbines diesel. Any MHD may be specified as closed-cycle: assume that each fuel tank module for such power plants has a 22 gallon hydrogen tank and an 11 gallon LOX tank, rather than a simple 33 gallon tank. For determining duration (only) for closed cycle engines, treat the fuel tank as holding 33 gallons of hydrogen, then multiplying duration by 2/3. Eleven gallons of hydrogen is $1.1 and 6.4 lbs; 11 gallons of LOX is $1.1 and 105.6 lbs

TL 9 Gas Turbine Core: KCr 3.75, 125 lbs, 1 VSP, +110 kW, 6.1 gph
TL 9 Gas Turbine Power: KCr 3.75, 125 lbs, 1 VPS, +125 kW, 6.9 gph

TL 10 MHD Core: KCr 2.5, 125 lbs, +163 kW, 24.5 gph
TL 10 MHD Power: KCr 2.5, 125 lbs, +208 kW, 31.2 gph

TL 9 Fuel Tanks: KCr 0.33, 33 lbs, 1 VPS, +0 kW, holds 33 galons, self-
Sealing (fuel cost and weight varies; for diesel fuel, Cr 40 and 198 lbs)
