The Shaitani is a development of the Zephyr assault hover and externally the two appear quite similar. The most noticable difference is the longer, thinner barrel for the main gun. The smaller ammo also allowed roomier seating for the turret crew, and, with the increase in armor, the hull waste space (needed for floatation purposes) was largely eliminated. A larger engine and fuel tank is mounted, as well as more powerful lift and thrust fans.
Unlike the Zephyr, the Shaitani cannot float, so rarely ventures far from shore when used by naval forces. Also, though it does not have the armor to stand up to a main battle tank, it can survive against most lesser opponents (outrunning them if required).

Design Notes
Frame is heavy for 600 cf body, 200 cf turret, 3 cf open mount and
360 cf skirts. Structural and surface features include sealed, basic IR
cloaking, basic stealth, basic sound baffling, psi shielding and liquid
crystil skin. The turret weaponry is fully stabilized and HE ammo is in
an anti-blast magazine.The open mount CG is in a univeral mount.
