Generic Coastal Patrol Boat, TL6
This represents a fairly typical craft used for coastal duties. It has moderate armament for dealing with other small boats and barges and has some defense against air attack. It can also be used as an escort for poorly armed (or unarmed) small transports. With it's very low draft, it is nearly immune to torpedo attacks. It is suitable for use in the Mediterranean and most island chains in the Pacific.
The boat is intended for extended, not long term, patrols. The bunk behind the bridge belongs to the commander and is more his office than sleeping quarters. The two bunks in the hull are used for short breaks by the other crewmen. If the boat is away from base for more than 12 hours, most of the crew will sleep on deck (especially the weapon crew). Generally, at least two bridge crew, one gunner (lookout) and one mechanic are on duty at all times.
The boat is laid out with the superstructure near the bow and the 75mm mount on the stern. The 20mm mount is atop the superstructure. There are LMG mounts at the bow and port and starboard, just behind the superstructure; the LMGs can also be taken ashore by a landing party if required. A raft is frequently carried on the deck between the superstructure and 75mm gun.
The crew is eleven men. On the bridge are the commander, helmsman, navigator and radio operator. In the hull are two mechanics. On deck are four gunners and one loader (75mm gun); under normal circumstances 2-3 of them are resting in the hull bunks. The boat uses 4.4 gallons of diesel per hour. At a speed of 11 mph, this gives a range of 1000 miles.

Design Notes
The LMG open mounts, which are atop three posts that are part of the
ship's railing, are sufficiently light enough for their cost and weight
to be ignored.
Variants
The 20mm open mount could be replaced by a slightly larger one, mounting
a 37mm or 40mm autocannon or dual 20mm guns. The 75mm open mount could
be replaced with a 37mm DP gun (making it a 'flak boat' to escort barges)
or a 4.2" or 120mm mortar (to shell inland positions). For an interesting
variant, it could be replaced by a rocket launcher (15cm 6-tube Nebelwerfer
is one example, with the US M-8 4.5" rocket launcher being another).
