Defender 46 light/medium transformable police battlesuit

The Defender 46 (from it's 2046 release date) was designed to serve as both a police battlesuit and police motorcyle. The theory was that a trooper would ride the Defender 46 in cycle mode for patrols, then switch to battlesuit mode at the first sign of trouble. Unfortunately, the precinct used to test the 'suit found this doctrine unacceptable. In cycle mode, the trooper is completely exposed to fire; because of the requirements of the battlesuit control system, the officer is unable to wear any effective armor or carry more than a small handgun.

As a result, only about 100 or so Defender 46's have been built in the past three years, most of them used experimentally by police and military. Most agree it is a fine piece of equipment, if anyone can find a use for it.

The Defender 46 mounts internal weaponry. The autoshotgun and 30mm AGL are well-suited for police use in an urban environment. The ASG is normally uses rubber shot and the AGL uses tear gas. However, there is no reason more lethal ammunition can't be used (the AGL feeds from 20-round and 15-round magazines and the ASG from two 70-round magazines).
