Kurogane Type 95 "Black Medal" Light Unarmed Reconaissance Vehicle (1937-1945)
After the mid-1930's incident in Manchurua, the Japanese Army realized it needed a light and fast scout vehicle. While several other scout cars were built, they were all, to some extent, derived from American vehicles, but the Type 95 was a completely Japanese design. The Type 95 was open-topped, with a canvas cover provided for poor weather. Only 4,800 were built. The Type 95 used 1.1 gph at routine usage.

weight, the chassis cost, weight and HPs were divided by 2 (this also divided
wheel HPs by two).
