This was essentially a military version of commercial trikes used in
the 1930's. It combined the front of a motorcycle with an open-topped
bin atop a two-wheeled axle. The bin had a tailgate at the rear for
easier loading and unloading.
The Type I had a crew of one and used 0.7 gallons of fuel per hour at routine usage.
