RT-3 scout walker
After a pair of very light recce walkers in the late 1930's failed
to prove satisfactory (inspired by German designs from earlier in the
decade and Japanese designs captured in skirmishes near Manchuria), the
more capable RT-3 debuted with Russian forces in late 1941. The RT-3 is
reasonably fast (on and off road) and has a good range (410 miles at 18
mph). It suffers from thin armor and the general Soviet lack of radios.
(Nothing in this design is exclusively Russian; it could be used by
most nations without any chnage to stats)
The RT-3 uses 2.7 gallons of gasoline per hour at routine usage.

Very Low Ground Pressure. Full Off-Road Speed.
Design Notes
All the mecha rules from W:WW were used, except for the “cheap”
transmission cost from the core book (see Variants for an “expensive”
transmission). An exception is gAccel, which uses the “kick start” rule
from VE2. The design gAccel, which was used for gSpeed determination
was 3 (for mecha with a top speed under 30mph, the “kick start”
acceleration is: 4 x top speed / speed factor (p.W146)).
To reduce weight to keep the ground pressure Very Low, the leg's cost,
weight, base DR and HPs were divided by two.
There is sufficient top deck space for up to three riflemen or scouts
to ride on the RT-3. Carrying even one soldier externally reduced
ground pressure to Low (4/5 OR speed).
Variants
A command version adds a medium range radio transmitter and reciever.
Most variants have slightly different armaments, replacing the 20mm
Long Ground AC. Some mount a faster firing 20mm Long Aircraft AC with
270 rounds while othershave a harder hitting 23mm Long Aircraft AC with
125 rounds. All of these retain the coaxial LMG. One rare version
mounts 8 (!) Ground LMGs with 500 rounds per gun.
Some have top-mounted launch rails for six 82mm rockets or two 132mm
rockets (treat as hardpoints). Untul the rockets are fired, ground
pressure is Low (4/5 OR speed)
