Piasecki HRP-1 ("Harp") Rescuer helicopter

Better known as the "Flying Banana" due to it's shape, the HRP-1 was a tandem-rotor helicopter which first flew in the spring of 1945 as the PV-3. It had a significantly better payload than American single-rotor designs but was on par with German designs like the Fa 223 (p.W:MP76). Unlike the Fa 223 which mounted it's rotors on outriggers, the HRP-1 placed them at the ends of the fuselage, with the rear rotor slightly raised to prevent contact between the two sets of blades. The HRP-1 was used  to carry passengers and cargo (up to 2,000 lbs). Some were used by the Marines to test landing troops as part of an amphibious assault. The HRP-1 entered production in 1947, with 20 being built. While few were constructed, it paved the way for the H-21 Shawnee of the Korean War and, eventually, the legendary CH-47 Chinook.

Crew consists of a pilot and copilot. The HRP-1 uses 20,1 gallons of aviation fuel per hour.

Design Notes
Like the R-4 Hoverfly, maximum lift were adjusted (by 1.29). Design speed was 104 mph. Loaded weight was increased by 2%.

The chassis was slightly too small. Even with reducing passengers to 4 VSP each, there was a 1 VSP shortage in the design. GM's should ignore this.

<>Variants:
The HRP-1G were three HRP-1's used by the Coast Guard.

The HRP-2 used metal rather than cloth skin. Max load 7,225 lbs, aSpeed 105. Five were built.
