The Gnat hoverbike is popular recreational vehicle in many areas, especially coastal, plains and desert regions. The main problem with the Gant is that it is not an especially robust design. A second problem is that it will not float on water.

In respone to some consumer complaints concerning the Gnat's relative fragility, the SuperGnat was introduced. Thanks to a lighter gas turbine, the lift and thrust fans could be uprated to handle a heavier frame and a thicker body shell. Range and cargo capacity were slightly reduced and cost increased some 37%. Some governments have tested the SuperGnat as a possible (border) patrol vehicle, but none have bought any in significant quantities for that role yet, possibly because, while the SuperGnat is tougher than the Gnat, it still suffers from the reliability problems of the lighter vehicle.
