Dewoitine D.520 fighter

Probably the best of the French fighters at the outbreak of the war, only 300 (or 350) were delivered before the French surrender. Another 400 were taken over by the Germans, with some 480 built by the Vichy French.  Planes taken by the Germans were given to Italy (60) and Bulgaria (120), while those retained by the Luftwaffe were used for training. Romania may or may not have recieved as many as 150 planes. The D.520 was slower than the Me 109 (p.W111) but was at least as maneuverable, but recovered badly from hard turns.

The D.520 uses 35 gallons of aviation fuel per hour at routine usage.

Design Notes
The historical speed has been used (design speed was 307 mph), as well as the actual wing area (172 square feet). Chassis HPs, weight and cost were doubled to increase weight closer to historical (final design weight was decreased 2%).
