TL8 Jaguar 122mm self-propelled gun

The third in the Cat series, the Jaguar is amphibious and air-transportable, capable of high off-road speed and with a fair amount of defensive systems. It is intended to provide light/medium artillery support to mechanized units. The gun uses four twelve-round magazines -- two are usually loaded with HE or HEC shells, one with a bursting submunition shell (ICM or FASCAM) and the last with some type of chemical round (usually hot smoke or blackout gas). The hull ammo must be manually loaded into the turret magazines by the crew, though they seldom have to completely dismount to do so.

The stats below represent the 'standard' Jaguar, but most users customize the tank to some degree. Unlike most other Cats, the M136 pod uses 102mm HEDP rather than 102mm HEC rockets, to provide some protection against enemy AFVs (though retreat is usually the best option). The only Jaguar variant replaces the 122mm howitzer with a 75mm L50 rapid fire [fast autoloading] cannon; it is much less effective in the indirect artillery role, but is somewhat useful against helicopters and ground- attack aircraft.
